On May 2–3, 2025, a group of our enthusiastic BSBA students took part in MyMarks 2025, the Mindanao Youth Marketing Summit, held at the iconic Limketkai Atrium in Cagayan de Oro City. This two-day event wasn’t just a conference—it was a transformative learning experience for tomorrow’s marketing professionals.
This year’s theme, “Igniting Breakthroughs,” perfectly captured the spirit of the summit. Designed as more than just a gathering, MyMarks 2025 served as a powerful movement—one that united aspiring marketers and seasoned professionals in a shared mission to push boundaries and spark innovation. It was a space where students could explore new ideas, gain deep industry insights, and interact with thought leaders who have made significant marks in global and local markets.
What made this year’s summit particularly impactful was the exceptional lineup of speakers. Participants had the rare chance to learn firsthand from top executives, pioneering marketers, and creative visionaries behind some of the world’s most successful brands. Among the featured speakers were:
- Jim Lafferty, former CEO of Procter & Gamble Philippines and Coca-Cola Nigeria, who offered insights on global brand leadership;
- Josiah and Chiqui Go, renowned marketing mentors and authors who shared lessons on strategic innovation and entrepreneurship;
- Donald Lim, President and COO of DITO CME, who spoke on digital transformation in the Philippine business landscape;
- Eddie Acedera, former Global Consumer and Insight Director at Unilever, who discussed practical methods in market research and brand-building.
The creative spotlight shone bright as well, with Jake Yrastorza and Jeano Cruz, the minds behind iconic campaigns for Jollibee, Netflix, and RC Cola, breaking down how storytelling and cultural relevance shape today’s advertising success. Joining them were branding expert Bingo Soriano and digital strategist Bryan Lim, who talked about the ever-changing demands of modern consumers.
Students also learned from Leah Ayeng, Director for Youth and Academe at the Philippine Marketing Association and CEO of Prestige Paper Products, along with Albet Buddahim, Head of Marketing at Mega Prime Foods and Chief Marketing Capability Strategist at Mansmith and Fielders. These experts provided real-world advice on brand communication, capability building, and connecting with Gen Z audiences.
Throughout the summit, students were immersed in sessions focused on strategic brand communication, consumer behavior, market insights, and the future of digital marketing. More than just listening, they engaged in conversations that challenged their perspectives and encouraged them to think like innovators.
Our BSBA participants left the summit with more than just notes and photos. They walked away with practical strategies, a broader professional network, and a renewed confidence in their ability to make an impact in the industry, even before graduation.
We celebrate our students for taking bold steps toward their future. Their participation in MyMarks 2025 reflects the Lourdes College Business Education Program’s tradition and drive to learn, lead, and become the marketing leaders of tomorrow.
