November 21, 2025. The Lourdes College Auditorium was filled with excitement and pride as our graduating students from the BSBA, Accountancy, Accounting Information Systems (AIS), and Information Technology (IT) programs gathered for their much-awaited Pinning Ceremony. For these students, the event marked not only the start of their last semester but also the beginning of a new chapter, one that takes them beyond the classroom and into the world of real-life work experience.

The ceremony honored all incoming interns who will soon embark on their 600-hour on-the-job training (OJT). Whether they are preparing for roles in business, finance, auditing, systems development, data analytics, or technical support, each pin placed on their uniform symbolizes responsibility, readiness, and trust.

As each student stepped forward to receive their pin, there was a noticeable sense of accomplishment. Faculty members who have guided them through demanding coursework, be it business strategies, accounting standards, information systems design, or programming logic, shared smiles that reflected both pride and hope. The pin, a simple emblem, became a powerful reminder of how far these students have come.

In her remarks, the department head emphasized that OJT is more than a requirement; it is a bridge connecting years of academic learning to the realities of the professional world. She reminded students that these 600 hours will shape their character, expand their competencies, and introduce them to the rhythm of workplace life: deadlines, teamwork, challenges, and opportunities.

The auditorium was filled with mixed emotions: the nervous excitement of IT students preparing for their first industry placement, the quiet confidence of Accountancy and AIS students ready to apply their skills in auditing, taxation, or financial reporting, and the enthusiasm of BSBA students eager to dive into marketing, operations, HR, and management roles.

For many, this final stretch before graduation carries both pressure and excitement. But it also carries promise. The promise of growth, discovery, and transformation. These next months will teach lessons that no textbook could fully prepare them for: professionalism, resilience, adaptability, and the courage to step into unfamiliar environments.

As the ceremony concluded, the faculty left the students with a heartfelt reminder: Wherever your training takes you, whether in offices, agencies, banks, IT companies, or corporate settings, carry with you the Lourdesian values of faith, excellence, and service.

Walking out of the auditorium, the students looked ready. Perhaps more ready than they ever realized. The pin they wore today was not just a symbol of the training ahead; it was a badge of potential, a token of trust, and a quiet declaration that they were prepared for the next chapter of their lives.

And with that, their journey begins.
