Students of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) program of Lourdes College took a break from classes, deadlines, and requirements to pause, reflect, and reconnect with their faith and purpose during a recollection held at the Lourdes College Integrated Basic Education Department (LC IBED) on August 13, 2026.
A Pause in the Middle of a Busy Semester
For many business students, the semester is a blur of case analyses, group reports, and examinations. The recollection offered a deliberate break from that pace. Participants were guided through moments of silence, prayer, reflection, and sharing, inviting them to look inward and ask what kind of professionals and persons they want to become.
The day opened with a lecture and continued with students doing reflection activities. Participants also took part in group sharing, journaling, or a reflection walk.
Faith, Values, and the Business Profession
As a Catholic institution founded on the Lourdes tradition of service, Lourdes College hopes to form graduates who lead with integrity and compassion. In their message, the facilitator reminded the students that success in business is measured not only by profit but also by honesty, stewardship, and care for others. Students were encouraged to bring these values into their studies, future workplaces, and communities, especially as they prepare for careers that will place them in positions of decision and influence.
Moving Forward
The recollection closed with a Mass, as students returned to their classes renewed and more grounded. The Business Education Program thanked the facilitators, faculty, and staff who made the activity possible. It affirmed its commitment to forming students who are competent in their field and grounded in faith and values.
