The crowd is alive, the court is buzzing, and my heart is racing. It’s Intramurals 2025, held from September 23 to 27, and as I tighten my grip on the ball, I realize that this moment is more than just a game. For me, sports has always been a classroom outside the classroom. A place where lessons about life, growth, and even business are learned the hard way, through sweat and perseverance.

When I first joined the team, I thought it was only about winning medals and making highlights. But I’ve discovered that sports shape us in deeper ways. It teaches discipline, the same discipline needed to finish reports, meet deadlines, or build a business from scratch. It teaches resilience, because just like in business, you won’t always win; sometimes you fail, but you learn, adjust, and bounce back stronger. Most of all, it teaches teamwork and leadership. On the court, success depends on trust, communication, and strategy. Isn’t that exactly what it takes to lead an organization or manage a business venture?

As a business student, I see sports as more than recreation. It’s a training ground for future entrepreneurs and leaders. A good athlete understands strategy, adapts to changing situations, and plays with both heart and mind, skills that translate directly to business. Negotiating with clients is like playing offense; managing a team is like coaching; and building a company requires the same persistence as practicing day after day until you get it right.

The Intramurals highlight this truth. For one week, we become more than students. We become athletes who test our endurance, sharpen our focus, and practice leadership in real time. And when the games end, we don’t just carry trophies; we carry lessons in discipline, resilience, and teamwork that make us better not only as individuals but also as future business professionals.

By September 27, when the last whistle blows, the jerseys will be folded and the cheers will fade, but the lessons will remain. Intramurals 2025 is not just a celebration of sport; it’s a reminder that education is holistic. It’s about shaping students who are not only academically prepared but also resilient, strategic, and collaborative. In short, it’s about shaping students to be ready for both life and business.
