Business came alive at Lourdes College from April 2 to April 5, 2025, as students, teachers, and guests gathered to celebrate this year’s Business Days, a much-anticipated week-long event that showcased the creativity, knowledge, and drive of our future entrepreneurs. Spearheaded by the Business Education Program, the celebration revolved around the theme, “Igniting Passion, Cultivating Innovation, and Transforming the Future,” a fitting phrase for the energy and vision that filled the campus throughout the week.

The festivities kicked off with an opening ceremony held at the LC Business Center on April 2. Students and faculty came together in high spirits, ready to take part in the fun yet meaningful lineup of activities. It wasn’t just another school event, it was a platform for ideas, talent, and real-world business skills to shine.

Competitions That Sparked Creativity

Business Days featured a wide range of competitions aimed at tapping into different student strengths. These included:

  • The Quiz Bowl, where teams went head-to-head in answering challenging questions on business topics.
  • A Poster Making Contest, which brought out students’ artistic side and their ability to communicate powerful messages through design.
  • An exciting On-the-Spot Product Making challenge, where participants turned ideas into tangible products under time pressure using recycled materials.
  • The Reels Video Contest, where creativity and storytelling met digital marketing.
  • And a Research Poster Showcase, where students presented their academic work in a visually engaging format.

All contests were open to both Senior High School and College students, and this year’s event was even more exciting thanks to the participation of guest SHS students from nearby schools. Representing their institutions with pride were students from Cagayan de Oro National High School, Bulua National High School, Carmen National High School, and Liceo de Cagayan University. Their involvement added a friendly but competitive spirit to the activities.

Student Showcases and Start-Up Vibes

Beyond the contests, 3rd Year Financial Services students, together with our freshmen, also put their business skills into action by setting up booths and showcasing their own product ideas. From homemade items to innovative business concepts, the student exhibits transformed parts of the school into mini start-up fairs. These displays weren’t just for show—they reflected the real learning and hands-on experiences students gained in class.

The Grand Finale: Mr. and Ms. Business Ambassadors 2025

The event will wrap up on April 5 with the much-awaited Search for Mr. and Ms. Business Ambassadors 2025. More than just a pageant, the competition honors students who represent what it means to be future business leaders—those who have the confidence, intelligence, and passion to make a difference. It’s expected to be the perfect finale for a week that has been nothing short of inspiring.

More Than an Event—A Vision for the Future

Business Days 2025 was more than just competitions and exhibits. It was a celebration of what Lourdes College stands for—excellence, creativity, and purpose. Students didn’t just participate for awards; they stepped up to challenge themselves, to collaborate, and to grow. It was a space where ideas took shape, talents were discovered, and leaders began to emerge.

As we close this chapter of Business Days, we look forward to more opportunities that will continue to shape the future of business education at Lourdes College. One thing’s for sure: the future is bright, and it starts here.
